High Efficiency Filter Media for Aprilaire/Space-Gard 2200 / 2250 (2-Pack). Equivalent to OEM Part# 201 These expandable "accordian" style, replacement filters are made to fit the Aprilaire/Space-Gard Model 2200 and 2250 Air Cleaner. MERV 11 rated. They are non-OEM filters. The filters ship like a collapsed accordian and are expanded into a plastic frame within the air cleaner cabinet. The filter is snapped into the plastic frame and held in place with existing your pleat spacers (NOT INCLUDED). Assembly instructions are printed on the product carton. The air cleaner media in the Model 2200 can last from 6 months up to 2 years. If installed on a 5-ton system, in the presence of high concentration of particulate, or if the furnace fan is on continuously, it may be necessary to change the media more frequently. In any application, the life of the media is dependant upon the total volume of air being moved through it as well as the amount of particulate it is filtering. I am pretty handy, but it took me a bit to figure out how to install the pleats in between the "teeth" of the "comb" that holds the filter media in place. I finally figured out the "combs" are removable and can be inserted all together in the pleats and then spread out and attached to the frame... You should have seen my attempts prior to figuring that out!

These replacment filter are OEM qulaity grade. The filter medium and construction are as good as the original at half the cost.
The cardboard tap that fits into the frame is slightly different (did not have locator cutout) but this is not a problem as long as the filter is centered properly.
Ea to install if your familier and have experience with a pleated filter/comb combination. If not, the first time is always a little challanging.
I would buy again.

Delivered about two weeks ago. Of course, a filter's story is not over until it is changed out in a year or so, but this product was as described and fit well. It was easy to install into the frame and then back into the blower unit for our central H/VAC. So, time will tell how long it will last before needing to be changed again. The product description says 12-18 months. These filters seem to fit and attach in the same manor as the original OEM filters, but at a reduced cost.
I have two of the Space-Gard units in my home and we change the filters once a year rather than trying
to blow them out with my shop compressor. The new filter is made from slightly less dense material than the
OEM, but I don't feel this is an issue in real world performance when compared to the "window screen" filters
used in most homes. I would buy them again.

Found it easiest to use one "comb" to sort the pleats, then insert 2nd "comb" next to it & slide it in place, then snap them into place on the unit. Took less than 15 minutes.

The filters were no more or less involved to install than the OEM versions, but they're slightly smaller. I've noticed no lessening in effectiveness, however.

Although others have mentioned having issues with the glue spots, I found the filter easy to handle as long as I was careful with it. The entire installation took about 5 minutes.

Your replacement filter media for the Spacegard filter looks like and installs just like the original. I would assume that it will work just as efficiently. Better yet it costs less and is made in the USA.

I wish you had the metal frame and box filter insert,(the easy change) when I went to make the purchase. I would have gotten that instead of what I did. Now I have to spend more money to get the upgrade that I would have purchased, right from the get-go.I had just purchased this house and would have welcomed the info from your site then.
