When I pulled apart the old filter to install the new the old one the old one was all bunched up and looked aweful. This one was so easy to install and slide right in. I highly recommend the upgrade. The website did a good job describing the product, I probably would not have even considered the upgrade if it wasn't for the wonderful advertisment.

This upgrade to our Spaceguard installed very easily. Good thing too because the plastic spacers had completely detached from the frame assembly. Haven't turned on the furnace or ac yet so can't tell if there is any difference in noise level or amount of heat coming out of the registers.

The upgrade process was very easy & I am already excited to not have to deal with those spacers and other nonsense with changing previous filters. The upgade kit was very easy to assemble. You do not need a techician out to take care of installing this for you. The instructions are short and sweet. It has been in use less then a month so we will see how we like it. I kept the old parts just in case we would want to convert back for any reason. The only one I could think of would be the cost. The new filters do cost more.

If you have had to fight with the old media, combing it and trying to not poke a hole in it, you are going to love how fast & easy the new media fits in the new upgraded holder. You just take the media from the box and it goes easily into the new frame. Throw those old combs away for ever. This is just wonderful

This product is a worthwhile upgrade from the standard Aprilaire furnace filter which is cumbersome and has some plastic parts that are prone to breakage with age and expensive to replace. I inherited the Aprilaire system in my recently purchased home. The filter insert and housing are easy to install (took less than 10 minutes) and now I have peace of mind that I don't have to deal with that Rube Goldberg contraption old air filter with plastic fins and broken tabs. I am very pleased with the new product and it arrived promptly. I'll be buying my filters from iaqsource from now on and will probably upgrade my thermostat in the near future.

Everything was extremely easy and was accomplished in a short amount of time. The only thing that was time consuming was lining up the lower bracket on the slides. This was because I had to get level with the floor in order to see what I was doing. I think the next time I replace this filter, it might be easier to start the bottom connecter first and then attach the upper one. Other than that slight set back, it was very simple and easy. My heating contractor was out for a tune up and was very impressed with this system,especially compared to the old original pleat and comb filter. The cost of replacement combs and the time need to line everything up makes this replacement system a no brainer. Have just put the filter in so not sure about the stated additional efficiency at this time.

This was an upgrade of an existing unit. The metal framework snapped together very easily and quickly, giving a nice sturdy structure. The framework slides into the case easily. Since my unit is mounted horizontally, you need to be careful when sliding in the framework with the filter media in place (I don't think this would apply for a vertically mounted unit).

Easy to install! Eliminates the old plastic case and comb separators. The new filter is supposed to be 65% more efficient at trapping dust which is the major reason I purchased the product. It's only been 3 weeks, but my wife and I have both noticed a HUGE reduction in the amount of dust that would normally accumulate on our table tops and mirors. It's gone from a LOT to almost mone. Installed upgrade kit in my Aprilaire Space-gard 2200 air filter system. This is an older air filter system where the filter is left of center of the opening. The kit was as easy to assemble and install as shown in the video on the website. The filter is a dream to install compared to the original replacements filters and I think the MERV 13 filter has made a HUGE improvement in the air quality of my house. The instructions for the upgrade kit are easy and clear to read. Buy it, you will not regret it!

I have watched my plastic "Tupperware like" filter frame warp and deteriorate over the last 14 years. The rigid combs have broken, and this whole inner frame assembly is falling apart.

This upgrade sold and marketed as a filter upgrade is also a modification to fix a poor original design. And it does!

It is easy to install, a perfect fix to all the original problems, made of metal, easy to service in the future, and a better filter media!

If you have one of these units, with the original plastic filter frame, you really need to do this modification. It will fix all your current problems and be trouble free in the future.

The design of upgraded air filter for the Space-guard model #2200 is impressive. I find that it is easy and quick to replace a dirty filter with a new one. It took a long time to put a new filter into the old filter compartment. This design eliminate the compartment. I would recommend to a friend that old worn-out air filter is to be replaced with a new upgraded air filter.

I had a little difficulty getting the filter insert into the track at first. A tab had been depressed (by me) too much and it blocked the track. Easily corrected. Hopefully we'll find this new filter effective in the months ahead.

I wasn't sure what to expect. The frame is easy to put together, but watch out for sharp edges. Between assembling the frame, installing into my central air system, and installing the filter, I had it done in less than 5 minutes. No more filter combs for me. Airflow seems the same if not more, and the air from the ducts also seems quieter.

I live in a small historical bungalow, (less than 1100 aq ft). I've had a problem with dust and contemplated purchasing one of those expensive air purifiers that markets itself as "eliminating dust" and purifying the air. Since I've upgraded to the Merv 13 Space Gard 2200, and installed a Merv 13 air filter in my return air. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but have noticed a SIGNIFICANT decrease in dust around the house...

I like the best quality, and this filter really makes a difference. Also like the fact that it needs changing only once every 12-18 months. First installation requires simple assembly of frame. Many folks in central KY are complaining of more allergies than usual, so upgrading our pair of Space-Gards originally installed in 1992 seemed appropriate.
I had read a warning about compatibility with older housings, but upgrading ours was uneventful. I never considered 2200 media replacement particularly messy, and do not see how #213 media will be much neater, but it will certainly be quicker.

Engaging the lower edge of #213 filters for upright installation requires blind feeling and fumbling; horizontal installation is easier.

It should be noted that this does not look like it fits right when using with an AprilAire SpaceGard 2400, there's about a 1" gap on the left hand side, and the filter media sticks out just a little to far, making the door press against it. After calling the filter-outlet, they showed me on the manufacturer video this is indeed the way this should fit. I have not had any other problems with it.

The upgrade kit went together just like the "how-to" video. If you are thinking of getting this kit, watch the video. It was very easy to install and only took minutes. I hope it's as efficient as touted. The upgrade filter is not as wide as the original filter it is replacing, so I hope it's just as effective.

The upgrade kit for the 2200 Air Cleaner sounded too good and easy to install. It took all of 30 minutes to put together and replace the original filter compartment. Not having to deal with the accordion spacers for replacment any longer is wonderful, and with the new kit and filter having a higher MERV rating you can't go wrong. The service and shipment from the on-line order process was easy, efficient, and quick. I am very satisfied with the upgrade kit and the process to get it from IAQSource.

I bought this upgrade kit specifically for the higher MERV rating over the original. My family has many allergies and I hope this helps to reduce symptoms from airborne particles. It is a bonus that it is easier and less messy to change.

I viewed the online video first, and decided it was something I could handle. When it arrived, I reviewed it again, it went together exactly the way it showed. When I change hte filter now it's a simple "slide out" "slide in". One caution the metal may have sharp edges, wear light gloves.

We were going to replace our furnace filter but saw this converter kit online. It seemed like a good idea. As advertised, it was very easy to put together, and then the new media replacement just slides in, no struggling with the old combs that separate the media. We swear we can tell a difference in the air quality.

Much easier to use than the old ffilter that you had to insert combs into. Simply snap together frame and slide in where old filter went then put in new filter 15 minutes tops or less.
