The filters are easy to install, slight spatter of water when you twist it off, no big deal and it's only once a year. The fridge alarm reminds me to put a new filter in. This is my second pack of three. It's reassuring to have unlimited pure and clean drinking water for less than 10 cents a day.

I believe that these filters now are made by Maytag, as opposed to the earlier, other manufacturer. The instructions now recommend replacement after six months, instead of the year recommended for the earlier ones. Seems like a rip-off to me, particularly since the filters are so expensive to begin with.

Filter-Outlet has the best price for this particular filter. Being able to order 3-pack helps me not to worry about buing new filter every 6 months. It's my second time ordering fridge filters through Filter-Outlet. I probably will do it again when I need. I just need my Amana fridge to survive another year and a half as it is absolutely awful. The UKF8001AXX has been upgraded to the UKF9001. The UKF9001AXX filters MTBE (methyl-t-butyl ether) in addition to the contaminants filtered by the UKF8001AXX.
I checked with my local water department and their testing revealed no MTBE in our water supply.
So, using the older UKF8001, which is a little cheaper and lasts much longer works best for my situation. Save money using the UKF8001 if your water supply is clear of MTBE.

Once I installed this filter my water dispenser flow greatly decreased and the water is not cold anymore. This was the filter suggested for my model number.

This filter fits my French door fridge, and having cold filtered water and lots of clean ice cubes come out the door is a really nice bonus!! I even use the bin of ice cubes in my garden (tomatoes will turn red quicker when they get some nice cool roots when they are the right size, but still green!).

I really don't know how much I can say about the filters. They were replacements for the filter that came with my Whirlpool refrigerator. They make my city water taste better. As for the performance on removing impurities, I really don't know.

I purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator last summer. This filter was part of the in-door water and ice dispensing system. The monitor stated that I needed a new filter 6 months after I started using the refrigerator. I searched the Internet and filter-outlet.com had the best prices on replacement filters. The ordering process was easy [...] I am not extremely pleased with the filter performance, however. The water tastes so bad that I cannot drink it; I prefer the tap water.

We checked into the price of replacing the water filter on our refrigerator from the store we purchased it from and this filter fits and works the same and was one-third the cost when we purchased three.
