As I have only had the filter installed a month or so, it would be hard to rate it's overall effectiveness. [...] Installation was easy and it comes with its own tube of gasket sealer! I expect it to perform as well as the original, very expensive, filter. I will review again after another month.

This is everything I wanted in a budget filter, almost. Easy install, no leaks and the water tastes good (but not great). My refrigerator has a reset button to turn off the replace filter light. It does not reset. Is that a problem with my new fridge or the filter, I don't know.

Very easy to install. You do need the lubricant on the O-rings or it will leak. Does a great job getting rid of the nasty tasting water.

Have been buying the Samsung filters since I have owned the refrigerator. Hard to find at the local [...] so I found these replacements that are much more inexpensive, but provide the same filtering capabilities. The filter installed easily. It is physically identical to the Samsung filter. Got three of these for the price of two of the Samsungs.

Perfect replacement at about 1/2 the cost. We have city water with a water softener, cartridge filter, 1 cu ft carbon filter and another cartridge filter from when we had a well. So we don't really need a great refrigerator filter, but my wife kept nagging me about it. After 2 years I ordered these and the water still tastes like nothing. So thanks for nothing.

We were happy with the price of the filters. We ordered a 3 pack of filters for out Samsung refrigerator. One filter we installed did leak....we reinstalled it twice and it still leaked. The second filter we installed worked just fine. We sent the leaky filter back and filter outlet sent an e-mail asking if we wanted a new one or a replacement. Things happen, so we requested a replacement filter.

Installation was a breeze but when we first started using the filtered water it didn't shut off when lever was released so water was leaking out but after a couple of days it works great! This was the first time we replaced the filter so not sure if it was specific to this filter or the appliance. Would buy again because it is worth the cost savings!

We couldn't tell the difference between this filter and the original Samsung Aqua-Pure filter. It was a perfect fit and the water tasted just as good. I especially like the fact that this is a "Made in the USA" product AND it was less expensive than the "Made in MEXICO" product that came with the refigerator. If you want to help the recession buy "Made in the USA"!!!

The water flow did not seem as strong as it was with the Samsung filter. I hope this does not affect the life span of the filter. If it does, the difference in cost will be eaten up. I'll have to wait and see about that.

When I first installed the replacement filter it leaked like a sieve. Then I noticed the little lubricant tube in the bottom of the box. Spreading that around and reinstalling the filter - I haven't seen a drop.

First time using a generic water filter in the fridge. Would use more for cooking and coffee but have filtered water (reverse osmosis)at the sink. Will have to look into generic filter for it. Water in fridge is clean and clear with these filters. I don't notice any difference in the filter performance except for the great price. Will buy again. Thankyou!

Samsung's filters are so overpriced and this replacement is still pricey but a lower cost alternative.
I found the installation a little trickier than I expected but this is the first time a filter has been replaced for this refrig.
I have followed the refrigs instructions on resetting the filter alert but it seems like it does not recognize this filter as new. So my alert indicator for replacement is still on. Could be Samsung or it could be the filter.
I have a whole house filter so this filter is purely an additional expense until I can find a cap for the filter outlet.

When I installed the filter it was especially hard to turn and to get a good installation. I decided I may have it screwed in crooked or something, so I started un=screwing it to realign it. When I did this, the filter practically blew out of my hand, and exploded with air pressure and shot water everywhere. It was so strong it even nearly knocked my glasses off my face! I really thought it had exploded, it was very scarey. I actually feel this could have been my fault, but I am leary of having to change it again now. Please be careful. (I had been using the actual Aqua-Pure filters and had NEVER had any problem.)

It took longer than expected for the air to bleed out of the line (I think that's what was making the noise) but no problem other than splashing and spurting for a couple of days

No problems at all with installation and no leaking. Went in just as easy as the more expensive original filters. Water tastes great. Have only had it in for about a month so we're not sure how long it lasts yet. I expect it will be just as good as the others.

The WaterSentinel replacement for the Samsung water filter installs in the same manner, and seems to work well in filtering water. The unanswered question is about how effective it is in removing pollutants. The Samsung filter comes with a test data sheet that specifies the testing it has undergone and tells exactly what it will remove. The WaterSentinel does not. So, is it as effective in removing invisible particles? Without further information from the company, I cannot tell. It is certainly a less expensive alternative, but does it filter as well?

I'm petite, and even on a stool, I needed more height, strength and leverage to be able to twist/remove the old filter and insert/install the new one. This filter was easy to install and it did not leak as others reviews have stated. Comparing the Samsung Aqua Plus to this filter, I have not noticed a difference in the taste of the water or ice. The filter also flushed just fine. I ran about 1 gallon of water through the filter before all visible particulates disappeared. So I ran an additional gallon of water through the filter just to be safe.

Wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to go with a generic filter in our brand spankin' new refrigerator but so far, so good!
Be ready to flush at least 6 glasses of water after the new filter goes in - they tell you this in the instructions, but being optimists, we really didn't think we'd have to stand there and run a small bucket brigade to the sink; we did.

The products seem to be perfect replacements to the OEM filter. I had no problems with installation or leaks (I did use the supplied silcon lubricant). Water flow rate is as good, if not better than the OEM. And it is at a much less cost than the OEM filter.
