Made In The USA WaterSentinel Replacement for GE MWF Filter (WSG-1) This filter is used for GE, Kenmore, and Hotpoint refrigerators with turn access on the inside upper corner of the refrigerator. This WaterSentinel refrigerator water filter contains a compressed carbon block which provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block has millions of active sites on it surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and can hold other types of impurities on it's surface like a magnet. Additionally this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. These processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible. This economical filter will provide you with fresh and clean tasting water and ice cubes. Make sure to replace your filter every 6 months. Easy to Install: Turn filter one quarter turn to the left and remove. Check o-ring is flat on top of t filter, fill filter with water. Insert filter in refrigerator and turn 1/4 to 1/2 turn to the right, label in front (do not overtighten) Run water for 5 minutes through the dispenser to flush the filter. Reset light if needed by holding down the reset filter button for 3 seconds. This filter has been tested by the manufacturer against ANSI/NSF Standard 42 for the reduction of Chlorine, Tastes and Odors.
