Followed installation instructions on water filter package as my less than adequate Amana refrigerator doesnt have any instructions on how to change the filter in the owner's manual.

Without the filter, I cannot drink our city water and buying it would be costly and inconvenient. I mainly use it for drinking, coffee, and for ice. I will only use water from the faucet if it needs to be boiled.Since the impurities are not visible, I change my filter at the designated time.

The only question I have is as to whether it needs to be flushed like similar Pur filters for 5 minutes before the water is palatable, It did not mention doing so... otherwise it was easy to install and works fine.

This was my first filter replacement for my 6 month old refrigerator. It was easier to install than I thought it would be. Water tastes different, but not bad. Not sure yet if I like the change, but I'll adjust. It did take a lot of wasted water before I could use the water that ran through the filter, but I assume that's normal. Pleased so far

Product arrived quickly and in ready to use condition. I had some time before the existing filter expired so I stored the new filters for about a month before installing the first replacement.Switching out the filters was easy. Followed the easy to understand directions, popped out the old filter (no leaks!), swapped out the cap, installed the new filter (again, no leaks!), then flushed with 3 gallons of water. Reset the filter replacement reminder and was back in business in 5 minutes.When I burn through my existing inventory, I'll be back for another 3-pack. Great price, [...]

We had our Whirlpool refrigerator for 6 months before the filter had to be replaced. We use the water dispenser many times thru out the day. We love having the filter system..it saves us from buying bottled water. That is how well the filter works on the refrigerator. Only complaint is the replacement process...I thought it was not as easy as others stated.

Basically, they are the same everywhere. In general, the product is overpriced in the marketplace, but filter-outlet.com seemed to have the best price when I compared this to the same product at other e-tailors. However, if you want decent quality water and ice, you have to buy these things. It would be nice to see some competition so the price comes down.

Although it's hard to install because you have to get onthe floor to do it, these filters are the same ones that came with my refrigerator and they instantly result in cleaner tasting water and ice cubes.

The product is specifically made for our refrigerator/freezer. It seems exactly the same as the filter that came with the appliance when we purchased it several months ago. I wish the filters lasted longer, but they're not terribly expensive. I'd rather have fresh, clean water from a filter that needs to be replaced a few times a year than bad-tasting impure water from a longer-lasting filter.

I am pleased that the product is a brand name I trust and a substitute wasn't sent in its place. Ordering is confusing. I entered the product number recommended by the manufacturer and the product goes to a different appliance brand. I now understand that my appliance is identical to other brands, but upon ordering, a confirmation that it works for all of the brands would be helpful.

We drink a lot of water and it is so easy to just use our new ice/water dispenser in the door of the fridge. The only thing I have a little trouble with is shoving the new filter in hard enough to seat it correctly.

The only part of this product that I did not like was the directions. I could not figure out how to get out the original filter to replace it with this one. I do not blam this soly on the new product but the refrigerator as well. Other then that this filter works great.

The first time I replaced the filter, I wrote the date on the box. When I installed the next one, I was amazaed to see that it was exactly 6 months later. After reading other posts, I see that the red light is based on a timer, not amount of water filtered or condition of the filter. The water tastes much better than spigot water.
Since the replacement light is on a 6 month basis for the filter, you can not tell when it really needs replaced.

Great water filter. I just don't care for the "good for 6 months" line. I was under the impression that a filter is rated on how many gallons it is able to treat not the length of time it has been installed in a refrigerator.

We only use it for the ice maker as we do not have a water dispenser on our refrigerator. My only complaint is the need to change it as often as recommended. It gets a little expensive. Otherwise we have no complaints.

Replacement filter was easy to change and worked like new afterwards.I will buy from filter-outlet.com again. I had originally ordered the wrong filter; the regenerator manufacture had sent me a reminder to replace the filter. The filter model number on the mailed flyer was wrong I did not realize this until I went to replace the filter.
