This product could not be any simpler to use. The "key" shape allows for correct installation orientation, everytime! I have been using these filters for 4 years and love them.
Best to purge the first 1/2 gallon of water through the newly installed filter prior to drinking.

I am a water snob. These taste close to distilled and the convenience of in the door water and ice is nice. These are not inexpensive, but much less than the department store replacements. The only con would be that they take a bit of water to break in and get all air out. Be careful of the first use after putting it in. Mine had VERY high pressure as it worked air out on first actuation.

These filters work very well and I notice a real difference in water taste. My city drinking water is already pretty good, but can be on the hard side. The filters really work as advertised.
Also should mention that while it says Whirlpool/KitchenAid as the brand these are replacements for, I've had no problems using these with my Kenmore branded refrigerator. (I think whirlpool makes all of them anyway..?)
The only downside is the cost, but its a LOT cheaper than buying bottled water.

While this filter is the only one recommended for my Kenmore refridgerator, I have been happy with it. As it recommends, I have only had to replace these filters every 6 months and I does make an extreme difference in the taste of our water.

Water filter is easy to replace. We don't go by what the fridge tells us (light turn from green to yellow to red). But when the water flow drops we know it's time for a new one. Replacement is simple, water does have the filtered taste for about 2 weeks (carbon filter).

This is a refrigrator filter that is replaced about every 99 days. The filter helps remove any test that maybe in our city water. I installed this filter about two weeks ago and it was easier to install than the OEM filter. So far water purity and taste are good; we use it for all our drinking water. It is certainly a better value than the OEM product.
One thing that is difficult to assess is the life of the filter. There should be some method of determining the end of the life of the filter. With the original, water flow diminished somewhat but is that (and the recommended 6 month life span) the only way to recognize the end of the life of the filter?

These filters definitely make everything you use water for taste better. We end up using the water from the fridge for drinking, cooking, tea and coffee, etc., which leads to the only downside: Although the filter instructions indicate it may be good for up to 6 months of use, my refrigerator's filter monitor usually has me replacing it at about every 9 or 10 weeks. Still, the water tastes great!

I think others have commented on this and it is not the fault of the filter...until all of the air is out of the system, the dispenser will drip. Just keep filling those glasses until at least two of them are free of air (no more spurts).
