I got this ice maker installed fairly easily. It wasn't working at first, but then I realized I needed to keep the metal bar on it (my previous ice maker didn't have one). I also needed to make sure the bar was all the way down at first. There are no notes about this in the installation instructions, just a slightly raised, hard to see diagram on the side of the ice maker itself. I totally missed it until I took it out again to see what was wrong. Other than that, the instructions were fine and it was a fairly easy replacement. Great to have ice again!

This worked Great it took a few minutes to install and I had ice 2 hours later. I did not find the quality of the product disappointing like the previous reviewer. Well worth the under $70.00 [...]. Other OEM places wanted $165.00 [...] + labor.

We own a side-by-side Whirlpool Fridge. It has the ice container in the freezer door.We had problems for months with our existing icemaker. The coating on the cube tray was coming off and the thing dripped water all over the place. This icemaker was very inexpensive. I couldn't believe how much money I was going to save. Appliance repair guy wanted to charge $120.00 for the part PLUS the service call. As with anything - knowing is half the battle. Getting the old unit out was kind of a pain - but only until I figured out you have the unscrew 3 screws from bottom with a hex driver. After that - it was a breeze. Now I've got a hopper full of ice, no more mess, and a bunch more money in my wallet. TWO THUMBS UP on this replacement icemaker.

Was very easy to install. The is not an OEM ice maker. The price is good, but the ice (for me) frequently gets caught under the "fingers" and you have to remove the jam to get it to work again. I'm disappointed, but I'll live...it was cheap. Probably would get the OEM if I were to place the order again.

It was delivered quickly. My only compaint is the plastic chute this ice slides down before it drops was broken. Rather than go through all the hassle I took it apart and used mine from the faulty unit. A note, if you have had your original Ice maker for a while, you will find the nonstick surface of the cube mold has been disitigrating into your ice over time. It may be time to purchase ths unit even if your old still works.

We were extremely happy to find this replacement part so we can fix this ourselves. It was very simple to install and great to not have to pay a serviceman to come out and do it.
