The Santa Fe Classic is a high capacity, energy efficient dehumidifier. The Santa Fe Classic is Energy Star rated and removes more water per unit of electricity than any other qualified dehumidifier. It can operate as a 'stand alone' dehumidifier; simply plug it in, route the condensate hose to a drain, and set the dehumidistat. It is ideal for basement and crawlspace applications since it operates effectively in temperatures as low as 53°F. Normally, a Santa Fe unit will maintain relative humidity levels below 50% in areas up to 3,000 square feet. An optional duct kit allows the Santa Fe Classic to be located in a mechanical room and deliver the dried air to another area via air ducts. Other available options include a noise reduction kit, a remote dehumidistat and a condensate pump kit.
The Santa Fe is a high efficiency residential dehumidifier that utilizes refrigeration to cool the incoming air stream below its dew point as it passes through the dehumidification (evaporator) coil. This cooling results in the removal of moisture (latent heat) and reduction of the temperature (sensible heat). The cooled and dried air is used to pre-cool the incoming air stream resulting in up to a 200 percent increase in overall efficiency. After the pre-cooling stage the processed air is reheated by passing through the condenser coil. The latent heat removed by the evaporator coil is returned to the air stream at this stage as sensible heat, resulting in an overall increase in temperature from the incoming air.
The Santa Fe is controlled by a manual dial-type dehumidistat with positive “ON” and “OFF” settings and a variable setting range. Note: Relative humidity level that can be achieved depends on temperature in space.

- The Santa Fe has a built-in defrost system that is designed for operation down to 45°F.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
I searched every local store trying to find a unit built in America. Failing this I had to purchase a unit from one of the big box stores. This unit was made in China and was a total piece of gargage. It was so noisy and ineffective that it was unusable. Every component on it vibrated-I took off one piece at a time trying to quiten it down. After it was stripped down to the bare frame and still made a ton of noise I decided it was time to bite the bullet and purchase the made in America (high quality) unit that I should have in the first place. To make matters worse for environmental reasons I can't even put the first unit in the trash to get rid of it. The Chinese unit ran almost nonstop- the Santa Fae brought my basement humidity under 50% within a couple of hours and currently only kicks on now and then. Yes it is expensive - but then throwing away useless equipment is also.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
I have NEVER had such a dry basement in just 3 days. I grimace at the amount of money I spent on the HD and Lowes models when this was out there. Quiet and effective. We're considering 2 more for our businesses. Thanks again.
Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
Put the Santa Fe Classic to work in a 2200 sq. ft basement. Originally had 77 percent relative humidity. Within two days, it was down to 39 percent. The unit keeps it there with control set just below midpoint. Couldn't be happier with the product. It's not an inexpensive dehumidifier, but it's worth every penny. Also, not extremely quiet, but certainly not noisy.
Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
I purchased this dehumidifier after the Atlanta floods. Finally my old house basement no longer smells musty and moldy. It's a large unit and I needed help to get it into the basement. But from there it was as simple as plugging it in and running the hose to the drain. You can believe the great reviews and my friends that bought the less expensive $200 dehumidifiers aren't happy with them.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
We live in Georgia and with all the recent rains/flooding our basement became musty/damp. This dehumidifier has a large capacity and has done a great job of dehumidifying the basement. It is a large unit and I did not want it in the room that is finished. I did buy the ducting kit and plan on keeping the unit in the unfinished part of the basement and duct it into the finished part. I have not done this as yet. So far, I have been running it in the unfinished part of the basement and have left a door open into the finished side.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
I have a basement with a underground interior perimeter drain and sump pump. Needed a good dehumidifier to dry out a 1,500sq ft semi-finished basement. The product is effective but unfortunately runs almost all the time to maintain a 55% Humidity level after being installed for one week.. Have applied waterproofing paint to walls and floor so hope this might cut down condensation and help unit work a little less hard to maintain 50-55% humidity level. Regardless still much better than the 2 "ineffective" [...] dehumidifiers.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
We've had a damp crawl space of about 1500sf that is troubled with groudwater saturation and constant high humidity. The moment we plugged in this unit it started trickling water out! It is a strong machine to cover big problems. It is also nice because you can have your HVAC guy fab up a duct pan on the top and run out any number of ducts/sizes to cover different rooms areas. We ran out two 8" ducts and one 6" duct to different areas of the crawlspace and then also piped up a 6" return off the exhaust to shoot warm dry area back into the wettest area to help get it drier. In about a week humidity has dropped, musty smell is gone, and you no longer instantly start to sweat when you go in there. The built in humidistat works great too and we set it at 30% and things are nice and dry.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
This unit is top notch. It ran a lot the first week or so but got the entire basement and even the upstairs down to 65% and now it kicks in once in a while to maintain. This has also been the most humid wet summer in years. It is very well made and does a better job than 3 or 4 regular Dehumidifiers.

Comments about Thermastor Santa Fe Classic Basement & Whole House Dehumidifier (4021400):
Have over 6,000 sq.ft home. 17 ft. ceilings on main level, huge basement, partially finished. We are in an area near a large lake..humidity/dampness. This is the 2nd Santa Fe dehumidifier I have purchased...the first one worked excellent for 10 years and ran 24/7! [...] The humidity had risen to over 50% in the unfinished basement area, after 2 days with the new Santa Fe dehumidifer it was down to 32%!!! EXCELLENT...my brother also uses same model in his northern WI home. Highly recommended by this family!
