It dehumidifies very well. I had some initial technical problems that were resolved very impressively by the manufacturer which I very much appreciated. It works great, dries my basement very well and is easy to use. It's a little loud so is best in my basement.

Comments about ACE SuperDryer62 Heavy Duty Portable Dehumidifier:

I use this unit in a 1200 sq ft unfinished basement that runs in the high 60s to low 70s% humidity and a few days after running this unit continuously, my humidity is at 50% and holding steady. The unit pumps water from its own drip pan using an onboard pump but it does not have a standard garden hose connection. Make sure if you order this unit to have the necessary length of 3/8" id flexible plastic (tygon) tubing on hand. It fits nicely over the barbed fitting at the pump discharge. The unit is relatively quiet for its size and the hour meter makes tracking usage easy. It also defrosts itself automatically so it is basically set it and forget it. So far, it's been worth the premium price.

Comments about ACE SuperDryer62 Heavy Duty Portable Dehumidifier:

I finally decided to invest in a commercial grade dehumidifier as I've gone throught 4 [...] home dehumidifiers in the past several years for my basements. I'm hoping this one can last MUCH longer than just a couple of years. So far its been efficient and is relatively quiet for the capacity of the unit. I've only had the unit a few weeks so I can't speak to its energy efficiency or longevity yet--thus the 4 star rating rather than five. So far,I'm pleased.

Comments about ACE SuperDryer62 Heavy Duty Portable Dehumidifier:

I chose this machine because it was rated to work in low temperatures, had a high rate of air change, low amp rating, and was a size that I could get down into the cellar of an old house.
This chubby upright machine is slowly but steadily reducing the humidity in a very very damp cellar. I don't know how fast machines should work so it may not be considered very fast. It is easy to move on large rear wheels. It is really quiet. None of my family members said they could even hear it. So far it is definitely a useful purchase.

This unit is a good whole house dehumidifier for a single level, specifically for basement levels w/ finsihed living areas. Portability and capacity are it's strongpoints - realtively quite for size. Will forst up with continued use, but defrost cycle keeps to a min. I would recommend.
